Tesla April Sales See Sharp Decline in Europe
(MENAFN) Tesla, the U.S. electric vehicle powerhouse, experienced a sharp decline in sales across Europe in April, dropping by 52.6% compared to the same month last year, according to fresh data released Tuesday by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
The report indicates that Elon Musk’s Tesla sold just 5,475 vehicles in April 2025 within the European Union, a steep fall from 11,540 units recorded in April 2024.
Expanding the scope to include the EU, the European Free Trade Association, and the UK, Tesla’s sales plummeted by 49%, reaching 7,261 units in April 2025 compared to the previous year.
In contrast, overall battery electric vehicle sales surged by 34.1% in the EU, hitting 145,341 units.
Tesla’s recent sales slump in Europe is widely attributed to CEO Elon Musk’s controversial political positions and increased political interference in the region.
Tesla’s sales in Europe have sharply decreased over the past few months, largely because of CEO Elon Musk’s contentious political views and his involvement in European political affairs.
